Today I figured I'd do a high end make up review. There is only going to be two products because I, being a teenager still in high school, cannot afford high end make up prices all the time so I stick to what I know and love which is drugstore!
The products I'll be reviewing are the Benefit They're Real Mascara and the MAC Select Cover-Up Concealer.
Benefit - They're Real Mascara:
This mascara is pretty good, Personally I have a love/hate relationship with it. I liked it but it didn't give me the full lash look that I love. I didn't like it because of how harsh the wand is on your lashes. It feels quite rough and hard and that's never comfortable for your lashes. I recently learnt to be in love with it because I was being lazy and didn't want to do my usual 2 mascaras (one for lash length&volume, second to give it waterproof protection - sounds silly...I know) so I used this because it has a 'semi waterproof formula' so hey that was a big bonus cause I was being lazy! Overall I do like this mascara but I would advise buying a sample size before you buy the whole thing. I did that and wasn't keen but I bought the bigger version to give it another whirl, but if you aren't keen on spending £19.50 on a mascara, I would recommend finding a drugstore dupe OR just sticking to sample sizes! Overall I'd give it a 7/10.
MAC - Select Cover-Up:
Let's get the story of my MAC history over with; a while back I wanted the Pro-Longwear Concealer because EVERYONE raves about it on YouTube. I went into MAC to not have a clue what was going on (first MAC visit may I add). I asked a lady if I could try the Pro-Longwear and she was lovely and tried to shade match me. She tried NW15. Baring in mind my skin is kinda pink toned so it looked super ashy toned on me! I got a sample size none the less (they were out of my shade so she gave me a sample size). I tried it out and hated it! It creased and smelt funny! SO on my little shopping trip to Lakeside (Essex Shopping Center) I decided to treat myself to the MAC Select Cover-Up in my correct shade of NC20. For anyone who is confused..NC is for people with pink toned skin, the colour range is usually yellow toned to counteract the pink in your skin. NW is for people with yellow toned skin I believe? Not sure on NW but I know that it's more pink toned shades. It was £15.50 and I love it. It's great coverage and a little goes a long way. It's a perfect match for my skin and I would defiantly buy it again. Don't be mislead by the packaging, I know it looks like a small amount of product but like I said.. a little goes a long way! Overall I'd give it a solid 9/10!
That's it for today's post. Hope you enjoyed!
