Top 5 Concealers

Hello Lovelies!
Hope your week has been good and you have had a lovely Saturday. I got my phone screen fixed today! YAY! It's also 8 days till I go see Professor Green in concert (next Sunday!!!!)

Today's post will be my top five concealers. Mainly drugstore as well which is brill!

Concealers: MAC Select Cover-Up (NC20), Maybelline Fit Me (10 & 15), Revlon Colour Stay (Light) & Essence Stay All Day (10 Soft Beige? - not sure of the name).

MAC - Love this concealer, little goes a long way and is a nice shade match! Already reviewed this on my High End Products blog post.

Maybelline - I like this concealer, I have put it as two individual concealers but that's because I have two shade's and they are both important. I have shade 10 & 15. Shade 10 is slightly too dark for my skin which doesn't make any sense but hey that's drugstore colour shade matches for you! (I often rant to myself about that lol). Shade 15 therefore is a little too pink toned for me so I kinda have to meet in the middle with these two shades. This concealer is known for being a dupe for the Nars Creamy Concealer (WHICH I WANT SOOO BAD) so if you were looking for a dupe for that, there you go! It has nice coverage, blends well and lasts a long time on my incredibly oily skin! I do love this concealer, it is pretty good.. just the shade matches sucks!

Revlon - OH MY GOODNESS. THIS CONCEALER WAS MY LIFE. Yes, 'was'. I loved this concealer for a good 6 months straight, which for me is a LOOOONG time. I usually end up finding something new to use and so on. I do still use this concealer on the odd occasion (as I now take a 'what do I fancy wearing on my face today' approach when doing my make up) so I do still love it. It's great coverage and lasts all day (hence the name 'Colour Stay'). It's a great concealer and I do really recommend it.

Lastly Essence - I do love this good ol' concealer. Got it to randomly try out and I was (again 'was') in love with it. For £2.80, it is AMAZING coverage and it give's you that 'fresh faced' look which is great when you feel poopy or tired! It's a nice thick, creamy consistency but doesn't cake up. It's just a beautiful concealer!

That is it for today's post!
I will be posting 3 blog post's next week as well! I planned my blog posts ahead, but wanted them up before Christmas so some weeks there will be 3 blog posts and others there will be 2. My normal schedule will be 2 a week, just so you know :)

Brand Focus: Sleek

Hello Lovelies!
Hope you're all okay!
I managed to smash my phone screen today and therefore cannot post on my Instagram till I get the screen repaired this weekend (yes it's that bad:(). Just thought I'd let you all know that!

On with the blog post! Today I figured I'd do a 'Brand Focus' and mention some of the product's I own. I don't know if this will be a regular thing, if you want it too be, comment below or let me know on Instagram. Today's brand focus will be on the brand Sleek.
Let's get started.

The Packaging:
The packaging for all 4 products is pretty neat and as the brand name suggests.. Sleek. I believe most Sleek products come in a small cardboard packaging. This has most of the information on it as Sleek keeps the main products packaging fairly clear and simple. The main packaging is fairly simple, just black and smooth. Which I like but it's a pain if you cannot remember what the name of the product is without the box!

The Products:
Sleek Face Form Palette - I have already partially reviewed this on my Autumn Must Haves. It's a super nice product if you're just starting out because it has one of each..blusher, bronzer and highlight. It's around £9,99 and I recommend it A LOT. It's great for a simple all round look or a more glam look, it's such a versatile product!

Lethal Length Mascara - I personally didn't like this mascara. From the name I got the impression it would give my lashes unbelievable length and to my disappointment, it didn't. It has a weird wand. The wand has bristles on only one side of the wand. It's difficult to explain but I just didn't agree with it. I will try it again but I didn't like it last time!

I'm Conditional Mascara - I like this mascara. It reminds me of the Mega Plush Mascara by Maybelline. The formula is quite a wet formula (If you get what I mean hahah!) It's a lovely brush and make's my lashes fairly long and lengthy! I would recommend this! It claims to help make your lashes grow and keep them conditioned I believe and I think it does. Not sure if it makes your lashes grow but it doesn't leave them all dry and flaky!

True Colour Lipstick in Barely There 776 - I really like this lipstick. I would say (even though it doesn't look like it in the photo) it's a coral shade. I LOVE the colour and it has amazing pigment. The packaging is small so it fits in your make up bag nicely! Its a really moisturizing lipstick with a sheen finish. I really recommend Sleek Lipsticks.. from this one I've tried I love it!!

So that's it for today! As usual if you have any questions comment below! Hope you enjoyed this blog post, let me know if you would like to see more 'Brand Focus' posts!

High End Review

Hello Lovelies! Hope your week has started well and hope you're okay!

Today I figured I'd do a high end make up review. There is only going to be two products because I, being a teenager still in high school, cannot afford high end make up prices all the time so I stick to what I know and love which is drugstore!
The products I'll be reviewing are the Benefit They're Real Mascara and the MAC Select Cover-Up Concealer.

Benefit - They're Real Mascara:
This mascara is pretty good, Personally I have a love/hate relationship with it. I liked it but it didn't give me the full lash look that I love. I didn't like it because of how harsh the wand is on your lashes. It feels quite rough and hard and that's never comfortable for your lashes. I recently learnt to be in love with it because I was being lazy and didn't want to do my usual 2 mascaras (one for lash length&volume, second to give it waterproof protection - sounds silly...I know) so I used this because it has a 'semi waterproof formula' so hey that was a big bonus cause I was being lazy! Overall I do like this mascara but I would advise buying a sample size before you buy the whole thing. I did that and wasn't keen but I bought the bigger version to give it another whirl, but if you aren't keen on spending £19.50 on a mascara, I would recommend finding a drugstore dupe OR just sticking to sample sizes! Overall I'd give it a 7/10.

MAC - Select Cover-Up:
Let's get the story of my MAC history over with; a while back I wanted the Pro-Longwear Concealer because EVERYONE raves about it on YouTube. I went into MAC to not have a clue what was going on (first MAC visit may I add). I asked a lady if I could try the Pro-Longwear and she was lovely and tried to shade match me. She tried NW15. Baring in mind my skin is kinda pink toned so it looked super ashy toned on me! I got a sample size none the less (they were out of my shade so she gave me a sample size). I tried it out and hated it! It creased and smelt funny! SO on my little shopping trip to Lakeside (Essex Shopping Center) I decided to treat myself to the MAC Select Cover-Up in my correct shade of NC20. For anyone who is confused..NC is for people with pink toned skin, the colour range is usually yellow toned to counteract the pink in your skin. NW is for people with yellow toned skin I believe? Not sure on NW but I know that it's more pink toned shades. It was £15.50 and I love it. It's great coverage and a little goes a long way. It's a perfect match for my skin and I would defiantly buy it again. Don't be mislead by the packaging, I know it looks like a small amount of product but like I said.. a little goes a long way! Overall I'd give it a solid 9/10!

That's it for today's post. Hope you enjoyed!

Autumn Must Haves!

Hello lovelies, hope your all having a lovely Saturday!
Today I thought I would do my Autumn Must Haves! Hope you enjoy!

First up is the Sleek Face Form palette. I chose this because I love the colour of the blush. It's a kinda rose gold colour and there are slight gold shimmers in it which makes it look absolutely BEAUTIFUL on the skin! The palette is brilliant if you want to start up your make up collection as it is a 3 in 1 (blush, bronzer & highlighter). I also love the bronzer in this palette. It's great because it isn't to muddy looking on my ridiculously pale skin! It's just an all round must have!

Secondly is lip products.
The first one being the Revlon Lip Butter in 050 Berry Smoothie. Oh my gosh how I love this colour. It's not too deep of a berry colour but oh wow it's just so beautiful and soooo autumnal (I've gotten really autumnal this year lol). It's a beautiful colour and I really recommend it!
The second lip product is Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me. Again like the Revlon lip butter, it's a nice red/berry shade but not to overpowering and it's great as it's a lip balm as well!
AND the last lip product is the good ol' Vaseline Rosy Lips lip balm. This one is a bit more pink but still beautiful for autumn. Vaseline lip balms are great and this will come in handy for the colder days when your likely to get chapped lips!

Lastly NAILS! I've really gotten into autumnal nails! The first nail varnish is L'Oreal nail varnish in 503 Addictive Plum! Oh how I love this colour. It's a mix of plum with a burgundy red colour! It's great (in the photo it looks more purple though). It lasts really well and I think it was fairly affordable which is a BIG bonus!
The last product is the nail varnish from Claries! It was in a Millie Mackintosh Collection and it is in the shade Ruby. I love this colour because it's so autumnal and so christmassy as well! Best of both which is always great!

Well that's it! Any questions - comment below!
Hope you enjoyed this blog post! I'll see you next time guys!

Q&A

Hello everyone!
Today's post will be a Q&A - if you hadn't already guessed from the title!
I asked you guys on Instagram ( @holaitslaura_ ) to send me in some of your questions and I got a few replies.

I'd like to quickly mention a girl named Nicole. She has been a friend I made through Instagram about 2 years ago now! We still talk often but sadly she lives the other side of the world! She gave me around 15 question's for this blog post so I figured I'd answer them and dedicate them to her :) Thank you for everything Nicole :)

Let's start :)

Instagram Questions:

@vi0letgh0st : Favorite concealer?
I would say either my MAC Select Cover Up or my Maybelline Fit Me concealer - Really love that one at the moment!

@vi0letgh0st : most used skin care product?
Probably my Garnier Miceller Water! Love this beauty for removing make up!

@vi0letgh0st : favorite face powder?
probably the Rimmel Stay Matte but I have been loving the Maybelline Super Stay powder a lot recently (It has amazing coverage for a powder - especially from the drugstore!)

@floral_rachel : favorite clothing shop and make up brand?
For clothes I'd like to say Primark but I also love New Look and H&M! Favorite make up brand.... hmm.. tough one! I'd probably say Bourjois, Maybelline or Rimmel.. can't choose one!

@runningwithtiqers : if you could only use one make up product for the rest of your life - what would it be?
OOOOH! I like this question but damn it's tough. I guess it'd be either lip balm or mascara. Does lip balm count as 'make up' or 'skin care'? If it doesn't count as make up I'll go with mascara. Not majorly bothered with the rest! haha!

@miia.aliice : favorite mascara?
Oooh urm.. I've been loving a Natural Collection one (cannot remember the name), gotta love affordable mascaras! There is a 2True mascara I like, Its in a yellow tube.. I think its called 'Flash Eyes' or something. Its pretty great. Or one of my MUST have mascaras is the Rimmel 100% Waterproof mascara. I love using it just to give my lashes waterproof protection but it just finishes my lashes beautifully, I always describe it as the 'setting powder/spray for your lashes'. If you get what I mean haha!

@miia.aliice : favorite bronzer?
I don't use bronzer often (I have pale skin sooo...) but I do like the Sleek Face Form Palette's bronzer. It's very nice. Sorry I didn't answer very well there but I'm not someone who uses it often!

Now for the Nicole dedication questions haha! :)

What do you want to do when your older?
I'd like to be a teaching assistant or maybe a teacher - Yeah I know.. it's boring but I'd always pretend I was a teacher when I played games when I was little :)

embarrassing moment?
Oh gosh, I do SOOO many embarrassing things.... urmmm.... Okay here's one - I was walking home from school with my friend (I was going round her house) when I was around 5 or 6.. I was talking to my friends mum and I walked into a bin because I wasnt looking where I was going :/ oh man I'm clumsy! hahaha!!

favorite beauty brushes?
Probably the Real Techniques brushes. They are amazing quality and definatly worth the money! I'd recommend the Expert Face Brush, it's a great all round brush for foundation, concealer and powder! LOVE IT!!

first make up product purchased?
AHH! It was so long ago I cant remember! I used to buy and collect little pieces of makeup so I honestly cannot remember - maybe it was a nail varnish? I have no idea!

favorite book?
THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. Sorry just love that book... plus I don't read often! haha - should do though.

favorite TV show?
Oh I have no idea! don't watch much TV. Probably Friday Night Dinner or The Inbetweeners (both can be found on Netflix)

why did you start up your blog?
I started it because I have such a big passion for beauty that I couldn't not talk about it! For years I've wanted to start a YouTube and I made silly videos but never uploaded them. It was YOU Nicole who persuaded me to make a YouTube & a blog but sadly it just wasn't the right time and I didn't get into it. I thought about the pros and cons of doing a YouTube & a blog again and I decided to do a blog for now as it fits more into my schedule! Thank you Nicole for helping me with all of this!

what is it like to live in the UK?
Urmm.. It's okay.. I know your meant to make where you live sound amazing but honestly I don't think it's anything special! If you have any particular questions feel free to ask :)

any nicknames?
I used to have the name 'Lbee'. That was just my initials with two ee's stuck on the end! It kinda died out within the third year of highschool!

favorite thing about Christmas?
PRESENTS FOR SURE. obviously but I think the second thing would be the food! hahaha, I love my food!!!

what's one special thing on your Christmas wishlist?
probably my iPad -  it'll be second hand as its from my sister but it's still SUPER cool and I cannot wait!!!

top three beauty favorites this month/winter?
urmm.. probably Maybelline Fit Me concealer, Maybelline Superstay powder and Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Cherry Me' - Wow a lot of Maybelline clearly!! hahaha

what do you do when your sad?
I like to spend time with my mum - she cheers me up no matter what!
I like to watch YouTube to cheer me up!
I like to look at advice videos (mentioned in a previous blog post... here)
I also like to get away from my phone - it helps to distance yourself from social media sometimes :)

will you ever post dupes or reviews or first impressions?
YES OF COURSE! Comment below if you guys have any you'd like to see!!

Favorite holiday movie?
Is it bad if I say I don't really have one? I'm not one to spend time over Christmas to watch holiday films... but I guess I like ELF so there you go :)

That is all my lovelies.. hopefully some of your questions have been answered and if there are anymore comment below and I'll answer them :)

See you next time :)

Make Up Routine

Hello Lovelies!

I don't generally have a specific 'everyday make up routine', I usually just pick and choose what I like based on how I'm feeling when I put my make up on! The other day I loved my make up and I'm thinking of making it a regular in my school mornings! So without further ado.. Here is (one of the many I will probably post) make up routine!

Starting with moisturizer, This is the Simple one I use, I like it, it does the job!

Next is foundation. I like the Rimmel Match Perfection at the moment! Mine is in the shade '100 Ivory'. I used to have a love/hate relationship with this foundation but recently it's been more love.I use either the Buffing Brush or the Expert Face Brush from Real Techniques.

Now to set the foundation. Gotta love the good ol' Rimmel Stay Matte powder! Love this beauty, just so good and so affordable! I just have mine in the first shade which is Transparent. As you can see it's well loved! I use this with my dupe of the Real Techniques Powder Brush.

Time for blush, some days I dont have to wear blush as my cheeks are naturally rosy but with wearing a higher coverage product means sometimes you need a little dust of blush! I've been loving this one from Natural Collection (plus its only £1.99!!!). It's in the shade 'Peach Melba'. Didn't think I'd like this colour but I do. I just use my E.L.F Complexion Brush with this.

Now for brows. I've never been 'all about those brows' but recently I've got into doing them a little. Whenever I'd use a angled brush to fill in my brows, they would end up looking SUPER dark and defined and that just isn't me! So whilst watching many make up videos, I noticed a girl similar to me filled in her brows lightly with a flat eyeshadow brush. I decided to try it and it worked well, I don't go over the top, just something subtle! I use a Natural Collection Eyeshadow in the shade 'Milk Chocolate'. It matches perfectly....Oh and of course a spoolie is needed!

LASTLY! MASCARA! I love big, fluttery lashes, so I use two mascaras to get my desired look! I use the Natural Collection Mascara (if you would like the exact name I'll comment it below) & I also use the Rimmel 100% Waterproof Mascara (just in case!).

And that's everything! Hope you guys liked this post! comment any suggestions you'd like to see!
